It's fresh smoothies! Great wraps! Ziggy Marley playing sweet music in the background. A happy place away from the craziness on the outside....

I really never wanted to review a large chain before. I've done a couple smaller chains that are sit down restaurants but I really just have to finally get this off my chest when it comes to the Tropical Smoothie in Boynton. I'll start off by saying I really like their food and smoothies. The wraps and sandwiches have always hit the spot for me and while the smoothies are no Jamba Juice (damn do I miss the old Boynton location) they are quite good as well. Hell I might even say that the prices aren't bad. But that's really where all the nice things I can say end. The lack of customer service is beyond reprehensible. If you've read any of the bad reviews already here you know what I'm going to say. The employees move at a pace that would make a snail feel like Usain Bolt. And that's when they are actually working. I will see employees just standing around in the back, between the smoothie station and food station, just flapping their gums with the others. I have put in online orders on multiple occassions and still have to wait long periods of time once I arrive 30 minutes after the order was placed, just like the site says to do. And like others have said, it is bizarre to see a person that just ordered get their items before someone that has been waiting 15-20 minutes. They always have a now hiring sign in the window and boy do they need some fresh blood in there. My work has on a couple occassions decided not to go there again. Only a few months later to give them another shot. We will then be reminded why we don't bother. No matter how good the food is at an establishment if the service is slow (by choice) and just doesn't seem to care it will completely kill your desire to go back.

Only once in a blue moon do I bother to write a review based on poor service, so the fact that I went here weeks ago and am still taking what little time I have to write about this place tells you how horrible my experience was. I waited a full 30min to get a smoothie and 2 tacos. I woulda waited longer if I hadn't bugged the teenie boppers runnin' the place. After seeing a couple customers who came after me get their drinks, I inquired after mine and found they skipped my order. Then when they finally gave me my tacos, they forgot my smoothie. Then when they got me my smoothie and I finally sat to eat, I saw they completely forgot every single topping to the taco. There was just meat. When I once again went to the counter to ask why, the girl looked confused, as if the taco was fine. Another less clueless girl came and saw the problem and took it back. I then waited another few minutes only to receive one taco with the wrong kinda meat!!!! At that point I was seriously annoyed, so I told the Less Clueless Girl that, and instead of offering a sincere apology and a refund or at least a discounted something, she gave some excuse that they were busy!!! I couldn't believe it! I asked for the manager who was not only not there (seriously, NO leadership????) but they had no idea when she would be available!!!! RIDICULOUS!!!! The food is no where near good enough for the aggravation!!!!

The food and smoothies are always good. I've had a few smoothies, peanut paradise, jetty punch, they've always been good. The buffalo chicken wrap always hits the spot. What everyone says on here about the staff and wait time is true. Always slow even when the place is empty. I would go more often if it was better run

Ehh... I had a $5 giftcard left unused from last year and decided to use it while I was still in the Quantum Plaza. I ordered the Sunrise Sunset which is strawberries, pineapple, mango, and orange juice. Came down to less than $5. It was okay and very very thick. Only drank 1/4 of the cup though because I then had a headache from it ( not a brain freeze). I make smoothies at home with fresh fruits, too, no dairy either. I think the headache was from the added turbinado sugar which I think is absolutely unnecessary as fruit is sugar too! It was just ridiculously thick that it was hard to drink through the straw. My husband didn't care for it either. We may be spoiled with our homemade smoothies and that our standards have been forever influenced by the amazing smoothies made at the old Nutrition Cottage that once stood at Atlantic in Delray. RIP. (The Boynton location still has yet to open a bar from what I hear). While the place was visibly clean, the employees didn't seem to like to work there. Why be so grouchy???? Won't come back to any of these cafes again anyway.

So slow. So rude. People just standing around. wait forever for one smoothie. Never again.

My expectations of this place are those of a fast food place. 4.5 food & smoothies 3.5 for prices 1 for service I've been here many times over the past 2 years. The food is ok+ for what it is but plan on $10+ for one person to get food and a drink. The service is so bad. The people who work there move at a snail's pace and don't seem happy at all. It doesn't matter if you call in your order, you're still going to have to wait. It had been 6 months since I last went because the service was so bad and now this most recent visit will likely keep me away for even longer.

I used to frequent this location quite often, then after several encounters with rude staff, I stopped coming. The smoothies were awesome but not worth the aggravation. Today, after many months I decided to give it another shot. I placed my order by phone and the young lady was super nice and pleasant. Went in, and, as promised my smoothie was ready. There were new employees, all greeted me with a smile and I was waited on immediately. Kudos to Amanda who took my phone order and took payment from me when I entered. Super sweet, warm smile and great customer service. Ill be back soon!

GET BETTER EMPLOYEES, YOU'RE LOSING WHAT MAKES A BUSINESS...LOYAL CUSTOMERS!!! Good quality food and smoothies but I called to place an order and they didn't pick up the first time and hung up the second time. Not very friendly, where are the owners?

Packed this afternoon and the lady behind the counter still had so much patience with me. Good thing as I just moved from Broward and I am a smoothie addict! Quick too! I will be back!!! Love it all!

This place should be stripped of its Tropical Smoothie Cafe title, much like my esteemed colleague (and former friend) Shawn M. should be stripped of his access to Yelp to Reviews. The only thing Shawn M.'s review was correct about, is the fact that this place is NEVER packed, and for good reason. One would reasonably believe that with no line and no crowds of people, the food was be served in a timely manner- not here. You can always expect to wait a minimum of 20 minutes for your smoothie order. *cue the wrath of the Jamba Juice gods* The food is totally sub-par and the lack of customer service is astounding. Yes, they're all younger kids, but when I'm paying $5.50 for a smoothie, I have a hard justifying the poor customer experience and simply "chalking" it up to the young employees. The owner should rethink his business plan, and/or should tweak his hiring practices. Don't come here unless you're in absolute need of a tasteless wrap, over-priced smoothie, or lackluster customer service.

I got a random craving last weekend for a smoothie. The first place we tried was closed for renovations, luckily Tropical Smoothie was just a few miles away. Judging by the line that was out the door when we got there, I had a feeling we made a good choice (or it was super hot outside, you decide.) I was tossed between the Blueberry Bliss - blueberries, strawberries and banana or the Acai Berry Boost - acai, pomegranate, banana, blueberries and strawberries. I typically get the Acai smoothie at Jamba plus it had all that the Blueberry Bliss has with some extra goodies, Acai it was. While waiting and observing, I noticed they also have some tasty sounding food too - wraps, sandwiches, salads and even tacos! I'd probably go back for lunch and try it for sure. At last my smoothie was ready and I have to say it was worth the wait. It was refreshing, cold, and the perfect blend of all my favorite fruits. Plus, the cup was huge! I didn't think I'd be able to finish it, but it was so good I just about did. I would recommend Tropical Smoothie to anyone who wants to beat the heat and cool off or to anyone who just wants a fresh and delicious smoothie!

I come here just for the smoothies. Very fresh real ingredients. So tasty! My favorite is the acai berry boost! It's crack, I'm hooked. I wanna try other flavors in just so stuck on acai berry boost!

Last time I was here was about a year and a half ago and I stopped because the service was just so slow. The product is fine, but not enough to compensate for the snail's pace of a service that they provide. They could sure learn a lot from Jamba Juice as those guys and gals can move.

Bad service, and it took us 10 minutes to get two smoothies when we were the only people in line. The smoothies were over blended and thin.

It took 30 minutes for me to get 2 smoothies! Sadly the people who work here do not care about customer service! It's been my worst experience at a tropical smoothie cafe and I have been to plenty different locations.

This is by far the slowest establishment ever. There are 5 people working here and average wait time seems to be 15 mins for a whole lot of nothing. I waited 25 min for a smoothie and a salad. Anytime you ask about it they just say it will be out shortly. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra miles to jambs juice or other smoothie place. You'll get better service and better food.

This place has great food & they're constantly upgrading the menu with different deliciously flavored smoothies, wraps & salads. Lines can get long at times, but trust me, the food is worth the wait. Kick back & enjoy some reggae music while you wait. You won't be sorry.

I don't want to rank a chain restaurant so high, but this place deserves it. Nice and clean, great customer service, and cost is inexpensive. I tried others close by and have always returned here for consistently great smoothies.

After I complained, an employee admitted to serving me spoiled caesar dressing for a salad. Offered to give me a "free" salad if I come back tomorrow.

Sandwiches and wraps aren't bad and the smoothies are pretty good but this place has the worst service I've ever experienced. Misplacing our call in order and making us wait until the people in line were served before correcting it was probably the worst, but it's consistently bad. Most times it takes forever and though we work in the area and would like to go there for a bit of variety, the poor service is just too overwhelming. And what's really odd is that no matter who's working, it's always the same slow, tired service. If you've got all day, give it a shot. If you're hungry, keep moving.

I love the tropical smoothie cafe on Northlake blvd. This one located in Boynton Beach SUCKS!!! I was standing in front of the cashier for at least 3 minutes before she acknowledged me. Mind you she was standing at the register. If she was "busy" she could have at least said I will be with you in a moment. There were no other customers in line. After I placed my order someone came behind me and ordered 2 smoothies. That person got their order way before me. When I asked where my order was, the person who was making the smoothies wasn't aware that I had already ordered and paid. Where was the cashier during all of this? She was making a smoothie for herself!!! She must have noticed the look on my face since instead of drinking it in front of me, she muttered that she was placing it in their fridge for later. I'm glad that she was able to get her free smoothie before my paid one. I shall never be going back to this location. No wonder it was practically empty. The Northlake Blvd. location is always full with customers and friendly employees.

I had some time to kill and I wanted to get lunch somewhere different. I like this place. It has a variety to choose from and I settled for the turkey blast wrap. Yum. The sunset sunrise smoothie with strawberries, pineapple, oranges, and mangoes was the bomb. I'm definitely going back to try a different smoothie next time.

Terrible. Never coming back after this last visit. We ordered our smoothies at 3:23PM and finally received them at 4:03PM, literally 40 minutes later. To add insult to injury, they were completely watered down... nothing like the tasty smoothies I had experienced here in the past. They were definitely busy, but there was no hustle, so of course they were going to be backed up. The employees here on this particular visit must have been under the impression that they really were on vacation on a tropical island... the only reason they were so behind as far as I could tell was because no one was getting any of the orders out in a timely manner. The actual line to order was short, the group waiting to actually receive something could have filled a small auditorium. Maybe the ridiculous wait for A FREAKIN' SMOOTHIE would have been tolerable had the staff at least been courteous, but the sad truth is that the service here gets worse every single time, with snarky attitudes from almost every person behind the counter. And thats IF they even look up to say 2 words to you during any part of the process. My wife asked if she could have the chips included with our sandwiches (which came out like 20 minutes before the smoothies), to which the cashier responded with eyes rolled back and an attitude-filled sigh: "What was your order again?". Piss off, seriously. Look at some of the other reviews for similar experiences. It's a shame, because I really liked this place once and wished it well. It could disappear off of the face of the Earth tomorrow for all I care now. It's painfully obvious the management here takes no pride.

Though it's a rather tasty smoothie, waiting 20 minutes or more for a smoothie every time I'm in here is absurd. The employees seem miserable.

My first order of business as Duke of this fair establishment is to set the record straight regarding their rating... Delicious smoothies. Thats what they are in the business of. I often call ahead to pick up my smoothies and the friendly casher has them waiting for me, chilling, in a refrigerator. When I'm there the staff is a pleasure to talk to and is very responsive. While it is true that sometimes the staff does chat with one another, I think we can chalk it up to the fact that most of them are high school and college students who (as im sure we can all remember) working at that age is a social experience too. Occasionally they are understaffed but this rarely becomes an issue because the place is NEVER packed. There is seldom a long line, and when there is those kids are running around in the back to make everyone's smoothie. Ive visited a couple of ther trip smootheis (in Boca) and ordered the same drink and it comes out less than half as good. I'm not sure what magic this location uses, but its amazing.

Picked up some wraps and Smoothies from this franchise location. When we got home with the food, we noticed the sesame chicken wrap had some dead ants on the chicken and a few live ones crawling out from within the wrap! Since I live about 20 minutes away I contacted the location via phone, spoke to the clerk that answered and explained that they might want to check their chicken and other items to see if they have an ant problem. 10 minutes later the owner of the location contacted me and was extremely defensive and accusatory and started arguing with me. He goes on and on how they have 'round the clock' extermination services that 'come once a month' and there is no way they have any ants. The conversation turned fairly nasty and I hung up on him. I contacted Tropical Smoothie corporate and they are investigating the issue. I've never written a single Yelp review, and sure, stuff happens, but to treat a customer like this is pathetic. This guy should lose his franchise license if this is how he treats his customers.

Wife and I went to this place and after 10minutes I went next door to the Chinese place. After I got my food at the Chinese place, my wife was still waiting to order. It ended up that she just walked out and went to the grocery store to make her own smoothie because Tropical Smoothie Cafe was way too slow. Looked like a great place but you will be waiting for them to grow the berries while you wait for your order. Speed up service and you will get a better review.

I typically love Tropical Smoothie: their smoothies are good, the place is in a good location (right off I-95 on Gateway Blvd.) and it's relatively clean and spacious with a general outside seating area. Music is great too - lots of Bob Marley and really...I think we can all use more Bob Marley in our lives. However, this particular location is THE WORST as far as service goes. They take FOREVER to make whatever you order because (1) there's not enough people working there and (2) they spend too much time chit chatting with each other. They are also insufferably RUDE. My last trip there was last week and I will not go back ever again. I placed my order and when the woman repeated it back to me, I failed to hear if she mentioned a special twist that I had asked for. When I asked her if she'd make sure she did this, she responded, "I already said that...didn't you hear me?" I'll go to the Tropical Smoothie Cafe on Northlake Blvd...they are much more pleasant there.
